ABOUT US
The Laird family has been a prominent farming family in the Napa Valley for over 50 years, growing grapes at over 40 vineyards sprinkled throughout the valley. In 1999, Ken and Gail Laird began a new adventure in establishing a family winery. Taking their exceptional fruit and drawing on their connections in the industry, the Laird's began producing their own premium Napa Valley wines.
Over the years, Ken and Gail's children, Justin and Rebecca have become integral to the family operation. Justin manages the family vineyards, which are now among the largest private vineyard holdings in the Napa Valley, and Rebecca is the general manager of the winery, which in addition to producing the Laird wines, is also one of the largest custom crush facilities in the region.
In recent years, the Laird family acquired Sunrise Ranch, a special addition to their land holdings. Soon after purchasing it, a spry 80-year old Ken Laird single-handedly tore out the vines and replanted new ones, creating the robust and expansive vineyards that now populate this 400-acre property. Furthermore, being that this is the Laird's most eastern-located vineyard, his wife, Gail, remarked on how they could watch the sun rise from there, thus inspiring the name, Sunrise Ranch Winery.
